BELLEFONTE -- The borough incline differentlyed the clock back 50 years Saturday opening a time-capsule before a fill to excess of hundreds as part of the annual Bellefonte Arts and Crafts Fair.
The main body prepared in 1956 as part of the borough's sesquicentennial anniversary, contained epistles from Bellefonte forefathers to family and friends today, ledger from the celebration 50 years ago and company photos from borough industries back then.
There also was a clumsy key to Bellefonte presented at Centre Hall, and a license plate commemorating Bellefonte's sesquicentennial 50 years ago Saturday.
For decades, the capsule's whereabouts remained a mystery until Bellefonte Councilwoman Vana Dainty scrape togethered it this year from shire government storage.
"And there it is," Dainty said as centurys of onlookers before a stage in fore-rank of the county courthouse applauded.
"It's mattered full of stuff," Centre shire Commissioner Steve Dershem said. "There's quite a bit in here."
