Carry-on bags themselves were permitted, yet beverages, shampoo and such things as contact len solution had to be transferred to checked baggage -- a precaution that at times required passengers to repack forward the spot in the departure lobby

The measure was established at all commercial airports nationwide after the early morning arrests in Britain of 21 suspects in connection with an alleged terrorist sketch foiled by authorities, to bang up airliners.

Any complaints about the just discovered precaution?

"Yes," said Brian Anderson, a Transportation Security Administration screening manager at the airport. "But each time things change, they complain. further most of the people are fairly acceptable to it."
