Michael Manchak recognizes that attracting business to San Luis Obispo shire is a challenge.

"San Luis Obispo shire is not the easiest or the cheapest place to do business," he says. "But the public come here for the quality of life."

That lifestyle is what Manchak is hoping to leverage in his character as the president and chief executive officer of the Economic Vitality Corp. of San Luis Obispo shire

Manchak is experienced in bringing recently made known businesses to the area. In his prior position as intend manager for Cal Poly's California Central Coast Research Partnership, he was responsible for recruiting high-tech businesses and establishing corporate partnerships with faculty for research. In that capacity, he troubleed paths with Ray Johnson, his predecessor at the EVC

"We would work hand in hand in a cases to bring companies to the area," explained Manchak. He took athwart the EVC's helm last September.
